GLCC Akron Wrap Up:

A Grand Champion is a team that places with the overall highest score of that Level across all Age Divisions at a competition.  This means, that from a Tiny 1 team to a Senior 1, the highest overall team would win the Level 1 Grand Champion award.

This past weekend in Akron bestowed great success for our program.  Although any coach will say, we can always keep pushing and do better, there really were some great accomplishments at the Battle at the Lake!

Alpha (Tiny Prep 1) 1st of 1

Beta (Mini 1) 2nd of 5 Runners Up to Level 1 Grand Champ

Lambda (Mini 2) 1st of 2

Gamma (Youth 1) 1st of 3

Delta (Youth 2) 1st of 2 Level 2 Grand Champion

GLCC Chicago – The Showdown Report Times:

Please follow the links below for all Report Times for this weekends competition.   We have rented a ballroom at the competition venue that we will utilize as a “Team Room”.  This “Team Room” will be the meeting point for all Report Times & Coaches Check In.  Athletes are welcome to leave their bags & belongings in there while at the competition.  Please NO VALUABLES though, as the room is not always supervised.  When appropriate and available, families are welcome to be in the Team Room, but will be asked to leave once coaches are starting the warm up process.  We will communicated the location of the Team Room via email and Team Moms, once we have more information.

Please note, due to the size of this competition, the event producer has “UPDATED” the “FINAL” schedule 3 times.  The times documented are subject to change and any changes will be communicated via Team Moms.

Chicago Bus Travel REVISED Information:

Please read the following information regarding this Friday’s bus trip to Schaumburg.  We have 90 people on this trip and have a lot of logistics to coordinate.  Please be prompt and considerate of the entire group.

Bus Assignments:

You should have received a text to inform you of your bus assignment(s).  If you did not, please text Julie Lyden at 440-552-2907 with your name.  On Sunday evening, bus 1 will be leaving as soon as the World’s Bids are announced.   Bus 2 will leave after the last awards (Sigma & Kappa are in this award session).  If for any reason you do not plan to return on the bus, please make sure that is communicated.

Times:

Please arrive at CW and be ready to board the buses at 4pm Friday.  Someone will be at the bus door and will check your name off of the roster as you enter the bus (please do not board the bus until this process is in place).  You may leave your car in the parking lot or have someone drop you off.   The bus will be dropping us off at the Comfort Suites, and the drivers will be checking in to the hotel.  If you are staying somewhere else, please make your own arrangements to get to your hotel from there.   If you plan to have someone pick you up at Cheer World early Monday morning, please arrange to have your ride waiting for you 6 hours after departing from the competition venue.  The gym will not be open and there will not be supervision for those waiting for a ride.

Dinners:

Pack a dinner and drink for the drive.  We plan to make only one restroom stop as we would like to get to Schaumburg as quickly as possible.  No dairy or alcoholic beverages are allowed on the bus.  For the late return trip, pizza will delivered to have on the bus.  If you desire to have other food, please arrange to bring it with you.  We will not be stopping for any food on the trip home.

Shuttle to competition venue:

As you enter the bus, you will be given a shuttle schedule for the weekend.   A bus will make several trips to and from the venue based on report and performance times.  Remember to set your clocks back one hour as we will be in the Central time zone!!

Sunday check out:  NOTE THESE TIMES HAVE CHANGED SINCE THE EMAIL YOU RECEIVED

On Sunday, you must check out of the hotel by noon.   The departure schedule is as follows:
