Weekly Reader 2/26/16

Hello Cheer World Families,

This Week:

Just a few more days and it’s almost March…Nationals season always makes the time fly by!  Be sure to review some practice adjustments, as well as competition recaps from the past few weeks.  Lots of new information this week!

Mark you calendars, we will be hosting our Worlds & Summit “Send Off” at the gym and hope to see as many fans & family members supporting the teams heading to Orlando!

Cheersport Wrap Up:

“From backyard to peewee, peewee to JV, JV to Varsity…what a difference crossing a few state lines will do!  2 weekends ago our Lambda, Delta, Epsilon, Kappa, iota & Omicron athletes & families traveled to the ATL to compete in the World’s second largest competition!  As an owner and a leader of our program, I could not be more proud of how CW represented at this prestigious event.  Although no team was named “National Champion,” as a program we were toe-to-toe with some other AMAZING programs in our industry.  While many of the Top Gun’s and Stingray’s have been around for 20+ years and have multiple World Titles under their “belt,” it’s a testament to our athletes, coaches and families for the commitment over the last few seasons to even be contending in these divisions.

As Cheer World pursues one of it’s goals of being one of the BEST gyms and programs in the State, Region & Nation, the steps of development that happen at events like this are invaluable.  We can’t expect our athletes to be competitive on the Worlds stage, if we aren’t competing against the best prior to that.  The judges feedback and division rankings are incomparable to a “local event.”  The coaching staff was able to take some great critiques and make adjustments to finish the season strong!” – AJ

NCA Wrap Up:

Congratulations to Immortals for getting their At Large Bid to the 2016 Cheerleading Worlds this past weekend in Dallas!  Both Omega & Immortals competed against some of THE BEST teams in the WORLD.  Performing in front of over 9,000 fans in “The Arena,” NCA Nationals is an experience like no other.

Easter Practice Adjustments:

With Easter Sunday falling the week before our FINAL regular season competition, we’ve adjusted the practice schedule that week to accommodate the teams needs to be best prepared for the competition that following weekend.  There will be NO practices on Sunday, March 27th to celebrate Easter.  That following week, teams will have their normal practice schedule, plus these added times:

iota – Tuesday (3/29) 4:30 – 7:30

Epsilon – Tuesday (3/29) 6:00 – 9:00

Lambda – Wednesday (3/30) 4:30 – 7:30

Omicron – Wednesday (3/30) 6:15 – 8:45

Kappa – Thursday (3/31) 5:00 – 7:00

Delta – Thursday (3/31) 6:00 – 9:00

Alpha – Please see below for added practice schedule, they will not come in twice this week.

Omega & Immortals – An adjusted practice schedule for remainder of season will be sent in a subsequent email.  We also want to confirm that all families know that the added practice on 3/19 is NO LONGER scheduled.

Alpha Added Practice:

Saturday, March 12th 9:30 – 11:00 am has officially been added for Alpha to have practice.

GLCC Sandusky General Information:

Next weekend, our Alpha, Baby Goddesses and Zeta athletes & families will be competing at Kalahari in Sandusky, OH for the GLCC Rockin’ Hall of Fame competition.  For the most up-to-date information on this event, please CLICK HERE.

General “Post Season” Schedule Information:

Following the final competition of the regular season, teams will generally continue their practice schedule in April.  This will be great opportunities for teams and athletes to work on some “future skills” and help prepare for next season!  Teams that do not qualify to the post season, may have some minor adjustments  to accommodate needs of post season practices.

Once we have a final list of teams attending the post season, we will communicate the Final Post Season schedule.  There will also be a Formstack sent out to acknowledge any potential conflicts with the schedule, so we can adjust accordingly to have full attendance at team practices.

Our Worlds Send Off will take place on Wednesday, 4/20 at 8:0opm

Our Summit Send Off will take place on Wednesday, 4/27 at 7:30pm
