Weekly Reader 7/24/15

Hello Cheer World Families,

This Week:

T-minus less than an hour till the Fam-Jam!!  We are so excited for tonights event and looking forward to a great time with families and athletes.

There is A LOT of NEW information in this weeks email, so be sure to read everything!

Book your Hotels for the Season!:

Please CLICK HERE for the spreadsheet that contains important hotel booking information for the entire season. Hotel blocks have been secured at most of the competitions.  If the block is not open yet, this information will be available in an updated spreadsheet in the upcoming Weekly Reader correspondence.  Thank you for understanding that the competitions require us to block these hotels through their housing companies because of the “Stay to Play” policies in place.  We try to comply and have families stay in these blocks as much as possible.  For NCA Dallas, this policy is strictly enforced and the team can be disqualified if you do not stay in the reserved hotel block.  We have gotten on every list at the earliest possible time and have tried our best to be as close to the competition venues as possible for each city.

Please note that some of these blocks have imminent deadlines – If you are traveling to Indianapolis or Atlanta and wish to stay in the block, please reserve your room before August 1.

Each hotel has different cancellation policies which can be found when you enter the reservation site.

If you have any questions about hotel booking, please contact Julie Lyden at slyden@hotmail.com or 440-552-2907.

Life Coach First…:

Cheer World is proud to continue our passion for giving back to the community by serving others.  We will continue our tradition of providing meals and cheer at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Cleveland Clinic.

We have 2 dates this summer:

Tuesday, July 28 and

Thursday August 13

We leave the parking lot of CW at 3:40pm and return around 7:30pm.  We can take a small group of  high school students.  If you would like to join us for this wonderful experience please contact Megan Lyden at 440-596-9193 as soon as possible.

Our first meal is being generously donated by a family of a graduated CW athlete.  If anyone would like to help with the second meal, please let Megan know that as well.

Practices CANCELLED:

Due to the upcoming Choreography in August, we will need to cancel some practices to accommodate the needs of the choreography schedule.

Iota, Lambda, Kappa and Team Tumble are cancelled (Epsilon still has practice).

Monday, 8/17/15-

“Choreography Buddies” for Alpha!:

We are looking for athletes on a Youth or Junior team (Lambda, Delta, Epsilon, Kappa) who at least have 1 year experience on All Star to help out our Alpha athletes during their choreography camps.  They will be “personal coaches” for the athletes to help with the learning curve.  If your athlete is interested, please contact kelly@cheerworldallstars.com.  Our helpers would need to be able to attend on both 7/31 & 8/1 12pm – 4pm.  They would also need to attend the week of practices following choreography.

Practice Wear: (REMINDER)

The majority of our athletes have received their practice wear this past week.  Please stop by the Front Desk to pick your athlete(s) gear up if you have done so yet.

We have tried contacting athletes who were NOT at practices this last week to confirm sizes.  If you have not notified the Front Desk yet of your athlete(s) sizes, please do so by Tuesday, 7/21.

We’ve also had a lot of questions on when the athletes are to wear their new practice gear.  They should wear them: 1) during any scheduled choreography & stunt camps 2) Both practices the week of any competition (including the Showcase). 3) Any other practice they want, but it’s only required for what’s stated above.

Save the Date: (REMINDER)

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 16th for the first CW Boosters fall Cheer Camp!  Just like our Presidents Day Camp, this is a fabulous fundraiser for the CW Booster Club. This is also a great for opportunity for our older All Star athletes to instruct and run this day camp.  More information will be out soon from the Boosters!

Finally, as a reminder to our policies.  Athletes are expected to attend EVERY SCHEDULED COMPETITION their team is attending.
