Weekly Reader 8/8/14

Hello Cheer World Families,

This Week:

Choreography season is in full swing and routines are coming together.  We are excited to bring in choreographers and clinicians from across the country to work with our athletes and coaching staff!  Delta families, be sure you note the adjustment to the Sunday schedule starting one hour earlier than originally scheduled.

Our Say Yes to the Dress event is just over a week away and is getting some great media attention.  Check out the article from Cleveland.com by CLICKING HERE.  We are still in need of volunteers for this event, sign up today by CLICKING HERE.

Please pass along to our teenage drivers, and sometimes a mom in a hurry that our landlords asked our customers to slow down while in the parking lot.

Team Meetings:

To help improve communication between our parents and coaches, we are scheduling parent meetings with each team throughout the season.  Some teams have already had their first meeting and the rest will be scheduled soon.

These meetings are to:

1) Provide an opportunity for the parents to meet the coaching staff.

2) Provide a forum for clear communication on team goals, pursuits and expectations as well as questions parents may have.


Uniform Updates:

Uniforms have been ordered!  The prototype is in and final adjustments are being made to the design.  We are 4-6 weeks from delivery!

Balance payments for uniforms are due 8/22.  The balance is the second half of the uniform payment of $200 plus tax ($216 total).


Say Yes to MY Dress Event – August 16  10m-5pm at Cheer World: (REMINDER)

Our next big event is quickly approaching!!!!!   Please consider volunteering to help make our newest philanthropic adventure successful!!!!
Desiring to take the Cheer World support of the Ronald McDonald Family Room to a new level, the CW Booster Club is staging a big event this summer called “Say Yes to MY Dress.”    We are collecting gently used or new dresses – from prom, homecoming, First Communion, everyday dresses, even wedding dresses, in youth to adult, small to plus sizes.   Proceeds from the dress sales at the August 16 event will benefit the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Cleveland Clinic.

We need a lot of help:

(1) If you have any dresses that you would like to donate or if you would like to make some money for these dresses, please drop off the dresses at the gym before August 8.  If you would like to do consignment, visit the YES TO MY DRESS tab at www.cheerworldallstars.com and find the instructions.

(2) We are inviting local vendors to participate in the event.  If you know of any jewelry, shoes, floral, or other vendors that would like to display and sell their merchandise the day of the sale, please let us know by August 1.

(3) If you have any contacts to help in the marketing this event to the greater Cleveland area, we would love to utilize them to spread the word.

(4) The day of the event we need volunteers!  Please consider spending part of your day helping others shop and purchase our dresses

(5) Please send the attached flyer about the event to all of your family and friends and invite them to join us on August 16!

 Support NEOPAT:

One of Cheer World’s partners NEOPAT (Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism) is in need of 8-10 cheerleaders (age 9 and up) on Wednesday, August 13 to help sort school supplies for children whose parents are in the military.   We would like to get down there around 10 and they will need us for roughly 2-3 hours and then we can head out.  The location is near the Akron airport so figure travel time as well.  Please contact Amy Offredo at aoffredo541@gmail.com and the first 10 volunteers will be able to go.  Amy can take 4 other cheerleaders with her but will also need another adult to drive.  Once we get the group, Amy will send out an email of meeting time and place.  Thank you – this is a great opportunity for some of the youth age children to get involved!!

Adjusted Choreography Schedule: (REMINDER)
Please  CLICK HERE  for an updated (Delta Families please see note below) version of the August Choreography Schedule!  Please remember that these camps are MANDATORY for the successful start of a competitive routine!   Alpha choreography is done in practices, so they do not have any additional days and times.  The normal Summer Schedule will remain in effect during the choreography camps, except for a few adjustments, see below.  Crossover athletes are still expected to attend their regular scheduled practices, even if they have choreography the same day.  The coaches will make adjustments for crossovers to limit their conditioning, etc but it is important they are still at practice.

Delta Families, please note that the choreography time is 9:00am – 2:00 pm vs the originally scheduled 10:00 – 3:00.
